The teaching of Science and Technology provides the opportunity to foster students’ sense of wonder and expand their natural curiosity about the world around them.
In Science lessons, students develop their skills in using processes of Working Scientifically and Working Technologically to answer interesting questions and develop creative solutions to important 21st century problems. They develop their curiosity and understanding about the Natural Environment and the Made Environment through learning about the Physical World, Earth and Space, the Living World, the Material World, Built Environments and Information and Products.
Students learn about the influence and relevance of science and technology in their lives now and in the future. The 2017 Science and Technology Syllabus increases the importance of Working Technologically. To augment this aspect of learning, St Peter’s is resourced with a bank of iPads, shared computers for each room and two banks of “robots”.
